Nurturing development and navigating behavior with heart and science.
In the world of early childhood, behavior is the only language children have to communicate their needs. But for many parents, caregivers, and educators, that language can often feel like a puzzle without a manual.
The Plan, Provide, Play series was created to bridge the gap between complex neurological research and the real-world "sandbox" of daily caregiving. Whether you are navigating a classroom of twenty or a home of two, our mission is to move you from reacting to frustration to responding with regulated calm.
As an early childhood educator and founder of LPCC, I understand the need for evidence-based, trauma-informed resources. Our curriculum is grounded in the "Construction Site" model of brain development, helping future educators understand the machinery of the prefrontal cortex and the survival brain.
Evidence-Based: Rooted in the ABC model of behavior (Antecedent, Behavior, Consequence).
Pedagogical Value: A comprehensive guide for child development courses and teacher-training programs.
Parenting doesn't come with a manual, until now. My guide for children ages 1–8 focuses on the practical tools you need to survive the "flipped lid" moments. We turn parents into "Behavior Detectives," helping you identify the invisible triggers like hunger, sensory overload, or transitions.
Practical Tools: From "Calm Corners" to "Yes Spaces," learn to build an environment where "No" isn't the only word your child hears.
Relatable Guidance: Written by a caregiver who has navigated the same disputes over blue trucks and naptime negotiations that you face every day.
(Coming Soon!) Workshops: Bring the "Plan, Provide, Play" class to your community for an interactive, 2-hour deep dive into co-regulation.

About me
Hello! I’m S. M. Plafcan , a dedicated early childhood educator, childcare provider, and the founder of LPCC, an in-home childcare program.
My journey into the world of child development wasn't just born in a classroom, it was forged in the daily reality of mediating disputes over blue trucks, navigating naptime negotiations, and raising my own four children. They have truly been my greatest teachers, showing me every day that while every child is unique, they all share a fundamental need to be seen, heard, and understood.
I'm currently attending my local University, earning my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Development, but hold an Associate of Science in Early Childhood Development and a Childhood Development Certificate. My academic path allowed me to dig deep into the "why" behind child behavior, studying the fascinating ways the young brain develops and how trauma, environment, and neuroception shape a child’s world.
Through my work and the guidance of incredible mentors like Ms. Cherry, I realized that there was a gap between complex neurological research and the practical, exhausted reality of parents and caregivers at 5:00 PM. I created the Plan, Provide, Play series to bridge that gap.
I believe that caregiving shouldn't be a constant battle of wills. When we understand the biological "machinery" driving a meltdown, we can move from reacting with frustration to responding with regulated calm. My mission is to equip you with the tools to be the "calm" your child needs, creating a "Yes Space" where both you and the children in your care can thrive.
"We aren't just managing behaviors; we are building brains and nurturing souls."
